33035 to move to Wirksworth

33035 is to move to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Derbyshire, on Monday 8th August, following completion of repairs at Boden Rail Engineering, Washwood Heath, Birmingham.

The locomotive has been lifted from its bogies and fitted with new bearings to the axle that developed a hot box during its move from Barrowhill to Swanage. The fault was attributed to a seal in the axlebox, whilst the bearings themselves were found to be unaffected. However, new bearings have been fitted after repair to the seal.

The wheelsets have also been tyre turned at Tyseley LM depot, and the opportunity taken to clean up parts of the bogies that are normally inaccessible when under the loco.
