20020 returns to Scotland
The loco returned to Bo’ness this week after almost a year on hire to the Wensleydale railway. It has already received a B exam and will be used during the summer season on the Bo’ness & Kinneil railway.

Also at Bo’ness 37025 is undergoing bogie refurbishment, wheelset replacement, ETH though fitment, boiler steam pipes replacement & boiler refurbishment prior to its mainline return.

37403’s power unit is in the final stages of reassembly with the recently overhauled turbos now refitted and just one of the pistons left to install.

55002 – news from the NRM

Lots of work has taken place during the last week with the loco having it’s axles and equalising beams UAT, and passing.  New tab washers were fitted, thanks to Martin Walker supplying these at the last minute.  Thanks also to Rail Traction Supplies for providing us with axle box cover gaskets as well. The loco is now fit to be towed on Network Rail.

No 1 power unit (457) had the defective fuel pumps and injectors replaced with the overhauled set provided by Martin Walker.  These should now go to Colchester Fuel Injection Ltd later this week.
Work has also seen the head code areas fitted with blanking off plates, to make 55002 the only Deltic currently looking like this.
The loco had a full brake test after a brake fault was cured – the air tank supplying the distributor had a small air leak.
