D7076 – ‘THE END OF THE WESMEK!!’
The Maybach MD 655 engine was removed from Hymek D7076 at Castlecroft TMD on Sunday 29th May (Once the rain had stopped!)

Alongside this bit of action, the other half of the team started to prepare one of the newly acquired MD 870’s for fitting to the loco over the next 2 weekends.
The MD 655 will now be fully rebuilt and refitted to D1041 Western Prince over the next few months.
It is hoped that the Hymek’s Engine room will get a little spruce-up however the Loco will remain in scabby external condition for a while yet!
If anyone would like to make a donation towards the upkeep of D7076 and overhaul of D1041 Western Prince, please feel free to do so via the Western prince website (care of Andy Slater) http://www.westernprince.co.uk/
As they say…these are exciting times!!

Many thanks from all at the BHG.
