Repairs following oil contamination to Llangollen-based Class 37 6940 are now complete and the loco was passed fit to run yesterday. The loco will work the LR four trip diesel diagram next Sunday (5th June). More details including timetable is here. Rhys Evans’s photo below shows 6940 at Deeside halt on the evening of Thursday 26th May during her evening test run to Glyndyfrdwy and back. Those posing with the loco have all put many hours into cleaning the power unit oil system over the last few weeks.

The return of Class 26 D5310 to Llangollen following its visit to the Severn Valley Railway has been delayed due to problems with transport. The loco should return to Llangollen soon and is booked to work the Saturday 18th June four trip diesel diagram. The photo below shows D5310 in the company of D821 at Bridgnorth on Friday 20th May (photo, Tez Pickthall).
