55016 & 55022 latest sales items

The owners of 55016 & 55022 are pleased to announce that The “Royal Scots Grey” shop now has some new products. First we have the latest DVD on sale finishing off where the third age left off. The DVD describes in detail from the big bang of the ‘Autumn Highlander’ in October 2006 when the loco suffered for a ‘leg out of bed’. The DVD investigates the fitting of a replacement power unit once used in a Norwegian Naval Torpedo Boat and exactly one year after the Doncaster blow-out, 22 returned to the main line hauling the 2007 “Autumn Highlander”. This is the story of that challenging time, liberally spiced with footage of the charters worked on naval power, and later, when 22 received a donor unit from reunited stablemate 55 016 “Gordon Highlander”. The story concludes, for the time being, with RSG’s 50th birthday celebration at the end of February 2011 and extensive footage, five days later, of the anniversary railtour from King’s Cross to Edinburgh Waverley and back.

… and for those of you who read the 1st April news on HS4000 “Kestrel”

It was indeed an age-old myth, with a bit of further artistic licence, published on April Fools Day.
