Loco restoration news

A  preliminary assessment of the bodywork on D1566 at Llangollen has been performed. Bodywork and repairs to the loco’s defective radiators will begin soon, with the aim of returning the only remaining Crewe-built, series-parallel wired 47 to traffic by the middle of next year. An update and photo of the loco can be seen on the LDG website. The Group are also pleased to announce a range of merchandise including polo shirts, fleeces, mugs and pens to raise funds for the overhaul of D1566 and the upkeep of the rest of the fleet. More information can be found here.
