Loco restoration news and Gala updates

After being re-united with its overhauled bogies, 33012 has been started up in Eastleigh Works.  After a minor fault had been dealt with, the loco took power in both directions.  Whilst the end is in sight, there still remains a lot of work to be done before the overhaul is complete.  Further details can be found on the group’s website

45108 was started at the Midland Railway Centre on 7th November for the first time in over a year.  A video of the start up can be viewed here

D444 was shunted into the shed at Cardiff Canton last week for the commencement of bodywork corrosion repairs and a full repaint into BR Blue Livery.  This work and repaint  has been made possible through the support and donations made to an recent appeal.  A new photo website has been set up to allow people to follow the work as it progresses

Churnet Valley Railway and Moorlands and City Railways – Cauldon Lowe Branch Reopening Gala
25059, 33021 and 37075 will be in action at the Reopening Gala on the 20th and 21st November hauling 7 coach trains up the 1 in 40 – 1 in 61 gradient.  Further details can be found here and a timetable will be published in due course.
